We are BriteVox Limited, trading as ZenterPrize (“ZenterPrize”). Zen Lottery is a common brand lottery jointly promoted by ZenterPrize and multiple individual societies.

We understand that your privacy is important to you and we are committed to safeguarding the privacy of anyone who provides personal information to us, including the collection and processing of personal data on behalf of our clients and visitors to our website www.zenlottery.com.

This policy sets out how we will treat your personal information.

What Is personal information?

What Happens to Your Data When You Join the Lottery

To play Zen Lottery, you must register by providing the information outlined in our Lottery Rules to ensure the requirements of the Gambling Act 2005 are met.

You will be asked to provide:

  1. Your name and address, telephone number, and email address so that we can verify that you are eligible to enter a lottery, confirm your entry into a lottery and contact you if you have won a prize.
  2. Your date of birth and confirmation you are over 18 years of age.
  3. Opt-in communication preferences.

What we may use your personal data for

We may access and use your personal data only for the purposes for which you have submitted it to us to (a) provide information to you, (b) make contact with you, (c) provide services to you, or (d) meet our legal and regulatory requirements for example, as required under the Gambling Act 2005.

We will not use your personal information for any purposes which we do not have your consent that permits us to do so. For example, we will not sell any personal data or use it for any other purpose than what has been agreed and consented to.

In some limited circumstances, we may be required to share personal information to complying with legal or regulatory obligations.

Data Retention

Your personal data will be retained while you are playing a lottery. We also retain your payment history, draw entry history, win history, and any other relevant information which we may reasonably be expected to retain.

We retain your information for 7 years after the last financial transaction on our account to ensure we meet our regulatory requirements, legal obligations, maintain accurate financial and other records, and to be able to resolve disputes. For example, to allow a regulatory body to audit our financial information and processes.

Following this period your personal information will be anonymised in our systems.

What are your rights?

Under the Data Protection Legislation, you have the following rights, which we will always work to uphold:

  1. The right to be informed about our collection and use of your personal data.
  2. The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  3. The right to have your personal data rectified if any of your personal data held by us is inaccurate or incomplete.

  9. Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling. We do not use your personal data in this way.

How and where do we store your personal data?

We handle and store your personal data in accordance with industry best practice and use selected third parties to help deliver our services to you and to support our business. For example, a Payment Processor to take payments for your entry. All third parties we use are also bound by the general data protection legislation mentioned in this policy.

Your customer data is held on secure servers inside the European Economic Area (“EEA”), specifically the United Kingdom.

By registering on the website or sending us your personal information by other means, you are indicating your consent for your personal information to be stored on our servers within the EEA.

We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.

How can you access your personal data?

If you want to know what personal information and data we have about you, you can ask us for details of that personal data and for a copy of it. This is known as a “subject access request”.

All subject access requests should be made in writing and sent by email info@zenlottery.com or to our postal address (see Contact Us section below).

There is not normally any charge for a subject access request. If your request is ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive’ (for example, if you make repetitive requests) a fee may be charged to cover our administrative costs in responding.

We will respond to your subject access request within one month of receiving it. Normally, we aim to provide a complete response, including a copy of your personal data, within that time. In some cases, however, particularly if your request is more complex, more time may be required up to a maximum of three months from the date we receive your request. You will be kept fully informed of our progress.

Children’s Personal Data

It is an offence for a person under 16 to participate in a lottery. As such, we do not maintain any child’s personal data.
